The NCCA (National Council for Curriculum and Assessment) has developed some new maths resources for parents in partnership with the Marino Institute of Education. They include 12 video clips and two tip sheets all focused on the infant level in primary schools. The purpose of the resources is to share ideas and tips with parents for things they can do using everyday items, to help their children learn and have fun with maths. A big warm welcome to all our parents and children from Scoil Ursula Parents Asscociation. The new PA committee for the year 2012/13 are as follows: Joint Chairpersons Susan Cox and Marie Kilfeather Joint Treasurers : Carmel Flynn and Orla Keaveney Secretary & Assistant Secretary: Gladys Rooney and Cliodhna Mc Partlan We will be holding events throughout the year and you will be updated through texts, flyers and the parents section on the school website, www.scoilursula.com. If you have any spare time to help us out in anyway please contact any of the above. Our meetings are held on the first Thursday of every month and we would love to see you there! AND NOW FOR THE FUN STUFF!!!! COMPETITION TIME…….!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our school is named after Saint Ursula whos feast day occurs on October 21st. To honour this we will be running a competiton. To be in with a chance to win one of six pairs of passes to the Gaeity Cinema, we are inviting all our children to draw a picture on A4 paper of Saint Ursula. Closing date for entries is Friday October 19th. Please put your name and class on the back of your picture. You can find lots of information and pictures of Saint Ursula on the web.
